The City of San Clemente is seeking volunteers again this Saturday, February 1 from 8-11amPT to help clear brush that poses a fire risk near the Rancho San Clemente Ridgeline Trail and Avenida Salvador as part of the Emergency Fuel Reduction Project. The previous volunteer effort took place on January 18 and cleared seven acres near Avenida Pico. Go, Team SC!

Project Overview
Date: Saturday, February 1, 2025
Time: 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Location: Ridgeline Trailhead at Avenida Salvador near Calle Monserrat
Objective: Removal of weeds, grass and brush (fuel) in open space areas
Volunteer Information
Volunteers will not need to, and should not, bring any equipment or tools to the project. All volunteers will be required to sign a waiver prior to participating in the project. Volunteers should register on the City’s website (www.san-clemente.org/volunteer) where a waiver can be signed electronically.
- Type of work needed – Volunteers will have the opportunity to help in the following ways:
- Gathering and disposing of weeds, grass, brush and other debris (dumpsters provided) that has been knocked down by heavy equipment.
- Removal of weeds, grass, brush and other debris in areas that cannot be cleared by heavy equipment. Some of this work may be adjacent to the use of heavy equipment, vehicles, and landscaping tools.
- Safety duty (low physical requirements – including fire watch, watching for unsafe conditions such as heavy equipment proximity to volunteers, etc.)
